WhatsApp has provided the first new storage management interface in 3 years. With the interface comes a few new filters and some easy-to-use improvements.
Users who have received the new design will be able to go to the app’s settings, select Memory & Data, and then select Manage Memory. WhatsApp will also turn on a clickable alert card in the Chats tab if the disc is too full.
At the top of the screen are the storage gauges followed by two new media filter bubbles: items forwarded multiple times – with meme response! – and larger ones 5MB. Users can also preview media-specific sections as they browse, sort files by size, then select and delete in bulk. And, as before, they can scroll down to check out individual chat threads.
The new look will be available this week for all users.
