Week 9 Sci-Fi Preview: Running again: There’s no time to panic with Clyde Edwards-Helaire

Week 9 Starts and Arrangements: RB’s
(4:32)

Week 8 has been a nasty week for Fantasy managers with Clyde Edwards-Helaire. The rookie only got 9 touches for the second week in a row, and unlike Week 7, he doesn’t save his day with a single touch. Le’Veon Bell̵

7;s presence is negatively impacting Edwards-Helaire’s mass, and in his most recent start, the effect wasn’t worth writing home either. But I’m not ready to panic yet and I’m not ready to let him sit on Week 9 ..

Part of the problem with volume is with the game scripts. The captains have defensive squad scores and especially during Week 7, which has limited their attacking play. In Week 8, they played a pretty good jet-defense against runs and was bad at passes, so it was Patrick Mahomes’ performance. Their Week 9 rival, the Carolina Panthers, is the exact opposite.

The Panthers have allowed the Illusion point to be fourth to run back. Nine different running backs have scored two-digit Fantasy points in comparison to them. I hope Edwards-Helaire will see more touches than he has in the past two weeks, and I hope he will be much more effective with them. If he doesn’t, then you may start to panic.
