The latest edition of Inside the Fort (ITF) gives you potential personnel changes that the Michigan Wolverines team can expect to see on Saturday in Indiana, along with updates on players suffering from which players can play and which players can sit out.
We also provided some perspectives from an Indiana perspective, while also discussing the latest news Jim Harbaugh and Juwan Howard on their respective recruiting path, especially as the basketball season is about to end.
Starting with football …
It was an enjoyable week, to say the least. After losing to a poor Michigan team, Wolverines spent the week searching their dojo… and finding some replacements for injured players.
As some have alluded to this week, there will be some changes ahead. There is an injury (a significant one) at two points, including a high ankle sprain for one ̵1; as many know, they need time to heal. On the opposite side, one grass toe case will slow another.
We expect freshmen Zak Zinter featured in the lineup, as did a red T-shirt Karsen Barnhart. Red T-shirt Trevor Keegan is another thing to see if things get complicated about the interior. All of these players have an advantage, and they all hit the pitch before the season and were there.
One of the young queues did not handle well knowing that he was out of line to start, but in Hoosiers fashion, they talked.
So … there will be some learning going on between the new sections on the line, and we believe that short term relationships for some people may get another crack.
On a positive note, we expect both defenders to play, Michael Barrett and Cam McGrone, after leaving the match last week early due to injury.
