Chapel Hill, NC – College officials sent a warning Friday morning that an armed and dangerous person was near the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill campus. At around 12:30 pm, officials rang “completely clear” alarm bells and said that the armed man on campus is no longer a threat.
It is now safe to continue with normal operations, the authorities said.
College officials said the dangerous man was near the Ambulance Care Center near UNC Hospital on Mason Farm Road.
Dense police were present in the area around 1pm
Campus police demanded that, if anyone saw anything suspicious, they immediately call 911.
Initially, university officials asked students, faculty, and staff to enter and close windows and doors.
