Pokemon Sword & Shield players may have beaten The Crown Tundra DLC, however, this expansion pack is filled with secret content to look for. Here are five neat secrets you may not have known.
The Pokemon franchise has entered its eighth generation with the release of Sword & Shield in 2019. Unlike previous clans, Game Freak has opted out of the third game to replace it with Expansion Cards.
While many Trainers completed the Crown Tundra update October 22, the expansion has a few hidden secrets in its snowy terrain. Here are five things you can do after beating the main story.
5 Secrets of Pokemon Crown Tundra
The main feature of the DLC focuses on popular Legendaries. The new Dynamax Adventures mode brings a host of extremely rare monsters from all previous generations for Coach to capture.
However, Crown Tundra also has a ton of features for hardcore fans as it plays through the main story of the game. Below we will discuss five cool tricks in the expansion that many players may not be aware of.
Hidden Raid den battle
No, Regigas isn’t the only hidden Raid battle in the Sword & Shield expansion pack. After activating the cutscene of the Galarian trio, the player can return and revisit the iconic Dyna Tree for a special encounter.
Just go to the huge trunk and shake it like you would the other trunks in the Wild Area of Galar. And yes, you guessed it – Gen 8’s most annoying Mon Greedent will fall on you to join the battle.
It’s especially funny, as the greedy squirrel is a giant special edition. Beat the hilarious battle gives players a huge variety of berries, including the rare Hondew variety. Trainers who want to quickly make a purchase should visit here.
Eeveelutions Raid den
In previous clans, Eeveelutions can get quite tricky as the player has to keep track of different evolution stones and capture seven Eeveel. Gen VIII made this a little easier, as these rare winds show up on the map during certain weather conditions.
Now it’s even easier with the Crown Tundra DLC. Next to the Dyna Tree, there’s a special cave filled with Eevees containing each evolutionary stone. It is convenient!
Coaches wanting to take advantage of the new feature should make a quick trip to the Dyna site and then to Lake Ballimere. The cave there especially gave birth to these beloved creatures.
The ghostly cutscene of Oleana
President Rose’s partner, Oleana is actually featured in the DLC. Many players may have heard Peonia mention the “rumor about a woman with long hair” at the entrance to Max Lair.
Well, the former Vice President was the one that was spotted, and Trainer could trigger a special cutscene with the old villain. Go to the Graveyard at night – you can change the time in the Switch’s system settings if needed.
The blonde character will stand next to a grave, and a hilarious scene will ensue. Make sure to select the “Sorry, I’m not” option to get full dialogue. The Easter Eggs bring one of the DLC’s running mysteries about Mr Peony to bed.
Fossil Pokemon den
That’s right, just like den Eeveelutions, Game Freak now offers Trainers an easier way to earn fossil monsters. It’s even better as the Crown Tundra position can also give you fossilized items as a reward.
As if that wasn’t interesting enough yet, the cave in particular is a hot spot for potentially potentially hunted creatures. Unfortunately, the location can be a bit difficult to reach, which is why it can be overlooked.
Spawn at the fast point of the Crown Shrine, and then head down the path through the winding caves. Technically, Den can be found at Snowside Slope, however it is located on a mountain side inside the large cave in front of the shrine.
Peonia is perfect for co-op
This secret can be overlooked by many, as Dynamax Adventures only allows you to capture the Legendary once. However, this mode is truly an incredible tool for Coaches who love to play RPG with their friends.
If you put one of the legends you captured in the first spot of the group and talk to the heroine, it will force her to automatically give the path / location to the particular creature there. It’s worth noting though that she has a cooldown, and you’ll need to complete an adventure to reset her.
The reason this is useful is that their friend support players can generate codes for each single Legend, then invite them to join the adventure. However, you can’t catch the monster again – but hey, sharing is interested, right?
Here are some of the best secret content found in the extensive update. However, there are still plenty of other widgets for you to find, such as hidden post-game Legendaries or unlockable items that you can get upon completing Dex.
It’s still unclear if The Crown Tundra is really the ultimate DLC for Sword & Shield, but it looks like dedicated players will be constantly trying to figure out the secrets Game Freak has hidden throughout Galar.
