Activision has had a bit of a weird history with Switch. They support this platform, but so far, that support requires a lot of patience from Nintendo fans. Finally, the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy arrived with the Switch, and the same happened to the Spyro Reignited Trilogy. Same thing can happen with Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time? We are not 100% sure, but we have the smallest hope.
The official Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time website doesn’t mention the Switch on the surface, but as you dig deeper, there’s a little bit of hidden in the source code. In the ̵6;Platforms’ section of the website, the source code actually mentions Switch. If this is fully implemented, it will allow you to click on the drop-down menu on the website to select Convert as the digital purchase option.
Usually I would say this doesn’t make any sense, but this exact same thing has popped up in the past with Activision websites. Sometimes it actually points to Switch releases, as was the case with the Crash and Spyro games mentioned above. It also happened with a Call of Duty title, which obviously never came to Switch.
Chances are this code snippet is just the remnant of a pattern that web developers use when building a website and they just leave it there. That said, we certainly hope it’s a sign that something is about to happen.
