Sid Shuman of Sony Interactive Entertainment wrote in a blog post: “Please don’t have plans to camp or queue up at your local retail store on launch day in hopes of finding a PS5 console to buy. “Be safe, at home and order online.”;
If you have managed to confirm pre-orders and plan to get your PS5 from the store, this change will not affect your pick up time. However, you should check with the retailer where you pre-ordered if you want to be more sure.
Strangely, Sony announced at the same time that reviews of new Xbox consoles are coming online. Now you can check out Engadget’s full reviews of Xbox Series X and Series S.
