The Pixel 5 is among the top phones to offer reverse wireless charging, but Google has done something exceptionally smart when it comes to it: whenever you plug in a USB-C cable, Your Pixel 5 will automatically reverse wireless charging, effectively turning it into a Qi charging dock, as detected by 9to5Google.
Google is pretty smart about how to handle the automatic: according to a supporting document, Battery Share will only turn on for “a short period of time”. If the phone detects another Qi compatible device has been placed on top for charging, it will work as it should, otherwise it will automatically turn off Battery Sharing.
This doesn’t mean you can’t use reverse wireless charging to share power when your phone isn’t plugged in – you can still activate Battery sharing manually, even if you don’t have one. charger. (To do that, go to Settings -> Battery -> Battery Sharing or add the Pin Sharing switch to your quick settings drop-down menu.)
The automatic reverse wireless charging, however, is an exceptionally smart addition that turns the entire Pixel 5 into a full-fledged Qi charger that can be easily carried anywhere.
