San Antonio Mayor Ron Nirenberg and Bexar County Judge Nelson Wolff updated the community on local responses to COVID-19 during their daily briefings on Friday night.
Nirenberg reported a total of 65,600 COVID-19 cases and a total of 1,251 deaths in Bexar County, as of Friday, an increase of 177 new cases. A new death has been reported today.
The 7-day moving average of the circumstances is 191.
City officials also reported that 235 patients are hospitalized, 92 are in intensive care and 50 are on mechanical ventilation.
Nirenberg reported 42 new hospitalizations in the past 24 hours.
Officials say there are about 12 patients from El Paso in San Antonio regional hospitals, but that number could increase or decrease depending on the COVID-19 situation in that city.
