The new ‘Pro Pack’ is available for Warzone

Private matches are a long-requested feature in Call of Duty: Warzone and have been rumored since the game’s launch.

With some users having discovered the option in their menu all just confirmed that private Warzone corridors will appear in the future.

Modern Warfare’s custom matches allow players to change almost every aspect of the game, creating their own game modes and rules. So far there is no information available on the level of customization options for Warzone’s private matches.

Here are the additions to the individual matches that Warzone will bring.

A more casual experience

Private matches have existed in Call of Duty since CoD 4: Modern Warfare and have resulted in some of the most memorable game modes in Call of Duty like quick scoping on Rust in MW2 and playing the ‘Mike’ Myers’. They are a casual and creative way to play with friends.

As players get better at Warzone and are moved up to higher levels of skill-based matchmaking, the game gets more difficult. With the huge success of The Haunting of Verdansk event including Zombie Royale, it’s clear that the Call of Duty fan base is opening up for a more casual Warzone experience.

Smaller private matches will allow players to play Warzone with anyone they like, in any way they like.

A test site

YouTube users like TheXclusiveAce, Drift0r, and DefendTheHouse spend a lot of time experimenting with the weapons and mechanics in Call of Duty. Much of this is done through private matches. With Warzone, there’s nowhere where they can test Warzone specifically. Currently, they have to try to load in a Plunder or Warzone match at the same time so that they are on two opposing teams.

With the community having a free trial area, it’s likely that the problems can be solved before they have time to widely affect the game. On the other hand, Warzone players can also take advantage of the exploits found through testing.

A competitive scene

There is a possibility that the competitive landscape of Warzone will develop with the addition of separate matches.

Currently, Warzone competition mainly consists of ‘extermination races.’ Popular in Fortnite, players try to be disqualified more than their opponents in one or two public Warzone games. These are extremely popular videos on Twitch and YouTube, with some competitors reaching 100,000 viewership. The tournaments take place in public matches so there is no defense against ‘snipers’ and cheaters.

Call of Duty League brings professional players together in Verdansk. As part of a weekend home game series, private matches include around 60 CDL professionals, coaches and others playing competitive Warzone matches. The rules have changed over the weeks, such as adding grade points and points per elimination.

Street players and pros will have the option of hosting their own private tournaments, potentially paving the way for a competitive Warzone setting. As seen in CDL’s Warzone Weekends, gameplay in these competitive matches will be seriously slowed down. With each player being a good professional with money, the player must be much more careful and considerate.

While there’s no final confirmation of when we’ll see the Private Corridor in Warzone, it could lead to new changes and experiences for all fans, including the casual experience and compete.
