The message of Warzone competition is confusing players • Eurogamer.net

Call of Duty: Warzone players are having a weird in-game announcement that looks like another teaser for the next main Call of Duty game.

Players are reporting their screen malfunctions to show a cluttered “know your history” message, with just a glance and you’ll miss this line in Russian, roughly translating to “orange bear to repeat “.

This cluttered notification takes up full screen and can seemingly happen any time while you’re playing Warzone. Hopefully it doesn̵

7;t happen in a gunfight!

Here’s how it looks (warning – there are a few oaths in the video below as players marvel at the announcement):

Here’s another example of a group of players surprised by the announcement (again, swear). Looks like all players on the same team see the message at the same time:

This new message may be related to the upcoming reveal of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, which Activision will soon announce. The game co-developed by Treyarch and Raven Software looks to be revealed in Warzone itself following some Black Ops-related Easter eggs in Verdansk.

This week, Activision sent out a mystery pack to some Call of Duty streamers and influencers along with a note pointing to some description on Monday, August 10. With regards to the Black Ops’ Cold War in some way, or ARG simply in relation to the epic tales that are going on in Warzone, it’s still not clear.

What is clear is that Activision is duplicating the Black Ops franchise with Modern Warfare. As I reported earlier this week, Activision wants to use the hugely popular Warzone as a platform to reveal new games in the franchise – even those that aren’t part of Infinity Ward’s Modern Warfare franchise.
