?? The fact that no one is responding and has no way to speak to anyone is horrible. ”
A teenage mother who took almost $ 20,000 (£ 15,300) from her savings account to donate on Twitch succeeded in getting her money back.
Speaking to Dotesports, the mother confirmed that thanks to partner Twitch Xsolla, she was able to get back almost the full $ 19,870.94 the kid had secretly donated to live streamers from the 14th to the day June 30.
“I’m relieved to have the money restored to my account and let the nightmare end,” the mother told Dotesports. “At this point it̵7;s only within a few hundred dollars, and I’m glad I got what I did and won’t pursue the difference.”
However, the parent admitted that she felt “bumped into a brick wall with Twitch”, and believed that the company’s lack of response was “the most annoying of all”. She alleges that no one answered her questions despite having sent certified letters to both Twitch CEO Emmett Shear and Amazon’s legal team, but after submitting the form online, Twitch’s account. Son is suddenly closed, causing “all transaction information to be lost”.
It is not clear whether any attempts have been made to contact the relevant streamers or if they were affected by the donation refund. According to the report, the donations went to “popular Twitch streamers like Tfue, Gorb, Ewokttv, Atlanta Falcons midfielder Kurt Benkert and Miami Heat’s Meyers Leonard”.
“The fact that no one is responding, and having no way to talk to anyone is horrible,” she added. “That is probably the worst thing.”
She ended up insisting that her son was “regretting” and is currently being counseled. Now, the boy can only play the game under supervision and Xoslla has “permanently locked” the boy’s account to prevent further unauthorized donations.
“This is a difficult time for our family, but hopefully we will all grow from this and become a stronger family,” she said.
