The Tesla brand showed its strength this week with the new Tesla Tequilla sold out even before Elon Musk could tweet about it.

Now the bottles are listed for 4 times their original price.

As we reported earlier this week, Tesla launched its own tequila – something that stems from a joke Elon Musk made in 2018.

That’s not a cheap joke.

Tesla started selling tequila bottles for $ 250 a box.

However, the product sold out within hours of appearing on Tesla’s website and before Elon Musk was able to tweet a link to Tesla Tequila to his nearly 40 million followers.

This is a clear demonstration of the power of the Tesla brand.

We don’t even know if tequila is good. This is purely a sales activity based on the power of the Tesla brand.

While we don’t know how many bottles Tesla has for sale, I do know that it will sell out when Elon Musk tweeted about it, but I don’t expect it to sell out.

It’s no wonder automakers, especially luxury automakers, leverage their brands to sell other luxury products, but I think Tesla is taking it to the next level. New here – joke product or not.

This is in line with the fact that Tesla is slowly climbing up the rankings in brand valuation rankings.

I think we’ll soon see Tesla overtake many automakers in brand pricing even though many of them led Tesla a century ago in their branding.
