Tesla finally launched its tequila with an insane-looking bottle and a very high price tag.
Yet another Elon Musk’s joke turns out to be horrifying.
From a fart machine inside a Tesla car to a flamethrower, Elon Musk has had a lot of strange ideas that sound like a joke but have come true.
Now let’s add Teslaquila to that list.
Back in 2018, Musk joked Tesla hates with an April Fool’s Day joke about the company going bankrupt.
As part of the joke, Musk wrote that he was found “unconscious in front of the Tesla Model 3, surrounded by bottles of” Teslaquila “, dry streaks of tears still visible on his cheeks.
Then the company actually trademarked ̵6;Teslaquila’ (although it was disputed), but nothing happened to it until now.
Today, Tesla went ahead and launched its own tequila, now known as Tesla Tequila, and began taking orders for $ 250 on its website:
It is only available in the United States and can only be delivered to states that permit alcohol delivery.
Tequila comes packaged in a crazy-looking lightning-shaped bottle.
Here is a bigger picture of it:
Tesla wrote in the product’s description:
Introducing Tesla Tequila, an exclusive premium, premium 100% de agave tequila añejo made from sustainably sourced upland and lowland agave. Aged for 15 months in French oak barrels and in hand-blown glass bottles, the Tesla Tequila has a dry fruity flavor and mild vanilla flavor with a balanced cinnamon pepper flavor. Best enjoyed as a sipping tequila. “
The fact that it has been around for more than five might explain why it takes so much time between product announcement and actually getting it to market.
Tesla seems to have partnered with Nosotros to make tequilla and Speakeasy Co, a liquor branding and distribution company, to distribute products.
I’m not surprised that Elon did all the work to make the product, but I can’t believe they really have me.
I’m a whiskey guy. Never really developed flavor for tequila, but they made me with that bottle. It looked great, I had to order one or two. Okay, two.
Now I have poorer than $ 500. Thanks Elon.
