But after only a few days of isolation and another checkup, all 10 were negative, Diversity learned exclusively, highlighting the challenges production companies and studios face in getting back to filming and television operations amid an ongoing pandemic.
A Westbrook spokesman said: “We followed CDC, California, and Los Angeles County guidelines for all of our products and photoshoots, including routine testing. “We received 10 positive test results and the crew members were quarantined and further quarantined. All 10 people were tested again and received negative results. We will continue to follow all official guidelines and security protocols ”.
Diversity’The understanding is that those who test positive are members of the crew, not talent. They will be put on segregation for a total of 14 days, according to a source familiar with the matter. Those working on Westbrook sets are routinely tested by the same laboratory.
The only on-going series currently being produced at Westbrook Studios is Red Table Talks, hosted by Jada Pinkett Smith, while Westbrook Media has some media footage in production. The company does not currently have any movies in production. Both Westbrook Studios and Westbrook Media are subsidiaries of Westbrook, founded in 2019 and also home to a digital content studio, social media management and creative brand incubator, among businesses other business.
The 10 confirmed cases at a Calabasas, California-based entertainment company are a publicly documented issue, published by the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health. Such cases are still on file despite recent negative test results.
When even Hollywood wants to get back to work, Westbrook’s bizarre case of a positive, then negative coronavirus test is an indication of the difficulties that even works of conscience have. Conventional testing will have to take into account the future.
