Sony’s latest State of Play event took place on Aug. 6 But while all eyes are on the PS5 as we prepare to usher in the next generation, this event is mostly focused on PS4 content. This includes a look at the previously announced games, but we also know the release date and have even seen a new version of one of the most beloved indie titles of the previous generation. . PlayStation VR has even been loved by some with a staggering classic stealth series.

What has been shown and announced
Crash Bandicoot 4: The time has come
Toys For Bob kicked off the show with its Crash Bandicoot 4: It̵7;s About Time event, showing the Insanity Beach area. It also highlights the ability to run on walls and other capabilities in the platform as well as a new look for the characters. Outfits have also been added and you can earn them throughout the game. There’s also no micro-trading, and you’ll be able to play with a variety of characters, including Dingodile. There’s also a new “N. Verted mode” that changes the feel of the game. It seems to mix classic Crash gameplay with new-style design choices and has plenty of callback spots for fans.
IO Interactive appeared at the event with Hitman 3. The game will feature PlayStation VR mode in first-person view, giving you a whole new way to experience creative assassinations. The content of all three games will support this mode. Yes, you can also do every task in VR from the previous two games.
Braid: Anniversary Edition
The next game shown during the presentation showed a scene of real people – or something like that – and gave some examples of progress and time regression. As it turns out, the creative trailer is for Braid: Anniversary Edition, and it’s coming in 2021. The areas have been changed to make them look more picturesque.
The road has no way
Giant Squid’s The Pathless was shown with gameplay captured on PS5. As a mythical adventure game set in a forest, there is an innovative archery mechanic that fills a meter used to quickly traverse the landscape. Time takes the place of aiming at attractions in the traditional sense, allowing you to move continuously. You can also fly using a bird friend, but you need to pet it to keep it in best shape.
The long-awaited Spelunky 2 has appeared in State of Play, and creator Derek Yu discussed how the balanced development team included new features while understanding what made it work before. The sequel will include online multiplayer, and you will build an in-game community as you explore more characters. You will also find hidden passages and be able to choose from branching paths as you progress. Game released September 15.
Aeon must die
A game by Limestone Games and Focus Home Interactive, Aeon Must Die is an intense 2D action game with Saturday morning animation. It looks like a very dark and stylish movie in the genre, and it includes vehicle shots and many demonic enemies. The game will be released on PS4.
As an adventure game comprised of 2D and 3D segments and a unique combination of pixel art and 3D, Anno Mutationem is an intense melee-focused adventure that looks set to focus on the story. .
We couldn’t watch the full presentation without Bugsnax and it came out halfway. The game has a first-person perspective as you, as a journalist, investigate the island and learn about the various Bugsnax that are occupying it. You will need to feed their favorite characters, and even take advantage of traps to catch certain creatures. The game will have a physical map to get you on the right track.
Star Wars: Immortal Vader
Coming to PSVR after its previous launch on Oculus devices, Star Wars: Vader Immortal will let you master your lightsaber force and skills as you battle against legendary sith lord Darth Vader. It was released on August 25.
One of the most acclaimed games of last year, Control is back with the new DLC. Awe is the second expansion pack and it’s coming this month. It looks set to bring even more action and mystery, just like we saw in the base game.
A quirky platforming game that uses signs and pictures you will play as a pictorial little person in xx. The game also has puzzle elements as you try to make a path, and it will be available on PS4 in 2021.
Hood: Outlaws & Legends
A new PS5 game, Hood: Outlaws & Legends from Sumo Newcastle and Focus Home Interactive. The medieval game is dark and dull, and it has “rage” who brag about being able to break through the defenses to attack their enemies. They promise to take back the stolen things and consider themselves heroes.
Pokemon-like TemTem has been introduced and is coming to PS5 soon. Previously gaining traction on PC, the game features online play and an easy-to-use communication system for players to interact with. It will launch in 2021.
The immersive action Godfall received a new gameplay demo to close the show. Captured on the PS5 development kit, the game features a fast-moving combat system that uses spears to move around and out of danger. It supports cooperative play with up to two other people and the world is divided into the realms of Earth, Water, Air, and Fire. There are no micro-transactions in the game, and there is a “mad god” waiting to be tested. You will be rewarded for active play and have five different weapons to try out.
Microsoft is also scheduled to host another Xbox event in August, hot after the July-end showcase that sees Halo Infinite’s gameplay. It’s been suggested that Microsoft’s event will focus on the rumored second-generation console, codenamed Lockhart, but no official announcement has yet been made.
