Orange County children recover after being diagnosed with West Nile virus



SANTA ANA, Calif. (KABC) – An Orange County child is recovering after being diagnosed with West Nile virus and hospitalized, health officials announced on Monday.

The young patient, age and identity not publicly disclosed, was the first in the county to become infected this year, according to the Orange County Health Care Authority.

So far, California has seen 10 infections by 2020.

Symptoms of the virus include fever, headache, nausea, and rash. Symptoms can last from a few days to a few months.
