GameGPU shared a video showcasing the performance of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX3090 on the built-in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla benchmark. And, as we can clearly see, NVIDIA’s most powerful GPU can’t run this multi-gen game at 4K / Ultra at 60 fps.
By benchmarks, the average frame rate at 4K / Ultra on the RTX3090 is around 56 fps. At first glance, this isn’t too bad. However, the in-game performance looked inferior to the built-in benchmarks. In some villages, the frame rate seems to drop to even 40 frames per second.
Now the reason we share these performance numbers is because we found them a little interesting. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is a multi-generational game and not a true next generation experience. The fact that the RTX3090 can̵7;t run it with 4K / 60fps / Ultra is a bit alarming given its performance on next generation games.
Now I know what some of you would say. “How can this game run with 4K / 60fps on Xbox Series X“? Well, from what we’ve heard so far, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will run at upgraded 4K on the next-generation console. We also don’t know what PC graphics installation the next generation version is using. So no, Valhalla doesn’t run with native 4K / 60fps / Ultra settings on an Xbox Series X or PS5.
Our PC Performance Analysis for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will be released tomorrow. In that post we’ll cover both AMD and NVIDIA hardware, so stay tuned for more!
