CHICAGO – A graphic file emailed to some malfunctioning fans announcing Chicago White Sox’s hiring of new manager Tony La Russa on Thursday contained AJ Hinch’s signature on La Russa’s photo.
According to one of the group’s sources, the mistake is due to many variations of the graphics being prepared for different applicants, even though Hinch has never been interviewed.
The finished finished application was emailed on Thursday as part of La Russa announcement.
The @whitesox email notification appears to have AJ Hinch Signature. Looks like it was fixed on Twitter. @ SoxOn35th @SouthSideSox @SoxMach_pnoles pic.twitter.com/m64LcrshZG

Hinch, a rumored candidate for the job, is likely to be on the initial list of candidates folded into the graphic creation process.
White Sox then tweeted a corrected version of the painting with La Russa’s signature on it.
