NFL legend Herb Adderley, who won six championships, died at the age of 81



Herb Adderley, a defensive defender at Pro Football Hall of Fame who previously starred with Green Bay Packers and the Dallas Cowboys, has passed away, officials said Friday. He’s 81 years old.

No details of Adderley’s death have been revealed. Nasir Adderley, Herb’s cousin and Los Angeles Chargers security guard, hailed him on Twitter as a “unique soul who has had an amazing impact on my life”.

Herb Adderley is one of the best defensive defenders ever to play football. He was selected in the first round of Draft NFL in 1961 and the second round of Draft AFL in 1

961. He chose to play for the Packers instead of the New York Titans.

He helped Packers achieve five NFL championships and won three Super Bowls. He is the professional pitcher five times and four times selected for the professional first team. In his best season in 1965, he scored six interceptions and three tackles with three mound recoveries.

He ended his career with 48 interceptions and seven ball touches. He ended his career with the Cowboys, playing for them from 1970 to 1972.
