New Mexico reported 16 new deaths, 1,287 additional COVID-19 cases

  • A man about 60 years old from Bernalillo County. The individual has been hospitalized and has underlying conditions.
  • A woman in her 70s from Chaves County. Individual was hospitalized.
  • A man in his 70s from Doña Ana County. Individual with basic eligibility and a resident of the Casa de Oro Center at a Las Cruces facility.
  • A man in his 30s is from Eddy County. The individual has been hospitalized and has underlying conditions.
  • A man about 30 years old from Lea County. The individual has been hospitalized and has underlying conditions.
  • A male in his 20s from Sandoval County. Individuals have the basic conditions.
  • A man in his 80̵
    7;s from Sandoval County. The individual has been hospitalized and has underlying conditions.
  • A man in his 60s from Sierra County. The individual has been hospitalized and has underlying conditions.
  • A man about 50 years old from Taos County. Individuals have the basic conditions.
  • A man in his 80’s from the District of Valencia. The individual has been hospitalized and has underlying conditions. This individual is a resident of the Belen Meadows Center for Recovery and Wellness in Belen.

The death toll of New Mexico residents associated with COVID-19 is currently 1,104.

In addition to the deaths, the state reported an additional 1,287 COVID-19 cases. As of Saturday, New Mexico had reported a total of 53,671 cases.

  • 6 new cases in Lincoln County
  • A new case in Los Alamos County
  • 25 new cases in Luna County
  • 77 new cases in McKinley County
  • 48 new cases in Otero County
  • 5 new cases in Quay county
  • 14 new cases in the county of Rio Arriba
  • 17 new cases in Roosevelt County
  • 71 new cases in Sandoval County

  • 1 new case among prisoners of the New Mexico Correctional Department at the Guadalupe County Correctional Facility
  • 1 new case among inmates of the New Mexico Corrections Department at the Northwest New Mexico Correction Center in Cibola County
  • 66 new cases among inmates of the New Mexico Correctional Department at the Roswell Correction Center
  • 2 new cases among inmates of the New Mexico Correctional Department at the North New Mexico Correctional Facility in Doña Ana County

The KOB 4 determined that 10.6% of the positive results of the tests analyzed in the Saturday report were from the state.

The state reports that 441 people are currently receiving COVID-19 treatment in hospital. The number may include people who test positive for COVID-19 out of state but are hospitalized in New Mexico.

As of Saturday, 77 percent of shared hospital beds at New Mexico hospitals have been filled, and 80 percent of ICU beds across New Mexico hospitals are already occupied. This includes patients hospitalized for COVID-19 and other illnesses.

There were 23,088 cases of COVID-19 designated as recovered by the New Mexico Ministry of Health.
