New Mexico reported 13 new deaths, 1,010 additional COVID-19 cases

  • A man in his 80’s from Santa Fe County. The individual has been hospitalized and has underlying conditions. This individual is a resident of the Kingston Residence of Santa Fe facility.
  • A man about 60 years old from Socorro County. Individual was hospitalized.
  • A man in his 70s from Socorro County. The individual has been hospitalized and has underlying conditions.

The death toll of New Mexico residents associated with COVID-19 is currently 1,007. The governor ordered half the staff to fly flags for the week to mourn the lives lost by COVID.

In addition to the deaths, the state reported 1,010 additional COVID-19 cases. As of Friday, New Mexico had reported a total of 45,909 cases.

  • 29 new cases in Chaves County
  • 28 new cases in Cibola County
  • 1 new case in Colfax County
  • 19 new cases in Curry County
  • 248 new cases in Doña Ana county
  • 18 new cases in Eddy County
  • 3 new cases in Grant County
  • 3 new cases in Guadalupe County
  • 26 new cases in Lea County
  • 3 new cases in Lincoln County
  • 43 new cases in Luna County
  • 33 new cases in McKinley County
  • 21 new cases in Otero County
  • 2 new cases in Quay county
  • 7 new cases in Rio Arriba county
  • 9 new cases in Roosevelt County
  • 36 new cases in Sandoval County
  • 28 new cases in San Juan County
  • 5 new cases in San Miguel County
  • 45 new cases in Santa Fe County
  • 3 new cases in Sierra County
  • 10 new cases in Socorro County
  • 10 new cases in Taos County
  • 3 new cases in Torrance County
  • 41 new cases in District Valencia
  • 1 new case among individuals detained by federal agencies at the Otero County Prison Facility

KOB 4 determined that 11% of the positive results of the tests analyzed in Friday’s report were from the state.

The state reported that 334 people are currently on COVID-19 treatment in hospital. The figure may include individuals who test positive for COVID-19 out of state but are hospitalized in New Mexico.

As of Thursday, 78% of the shared hospital beds in New Mexico hospitals have been filled, and 75% of the ICU beds across the hospitals in New Mexico. This includes patients hospitalized for COVID-19 and other illnesses.

There were 21,491 cases of COVID-19 designated as recovered by the New Mexico Department of Health.
