Miami vs. State Ratio NC: D’Eriq King shows his ability to lead Storm 11 back to avoid discomfort

ACC

Miami (FL) full-back D’Eriq King may have gone underperformed in the Heisman Trophy race after statistically tragic defeats, but Hurricanes̵

7;s cue-caller still does some magic. King made five touches on Friday night as the Miami lead 11 returned from a 10-point deficit in the fourth quarter to beat NC State 44-41.

The lead came from a 54-yard pass from King to Mike Harley with the remaining score of 2:43. Then, after being intercepted by Miami, King played the first game in the third down leg with 2:26 remaining. With Bang NC running out of timeout, Hurricanes could run out of time and improve to 6-1.

In the win, King became the only FBS player in the past 25 seasons to have a 5-touch, non-interceptor match with two different schools, according to ESPN. He also did a feat playing for Houston against Texas Tech in 2018.

King threw in 430 yards as 31 of 41 passed and also ran 105 yards in 15 attempts to lead the oncoming storm. Despite having only 11 games on schedule, Miami is now just one win away from last season’s total and four matches left. The King’s heroes also kept Hurricanes vying for a place in the ACC title game.

Miami will take second place on the league standings with the loser in tomorrow’s showdown between No. 1 Clemson and No.4 Notre Dame since everyone else in ACC has at least two losses.
