McDonald’s announced Friday that for the first time in eight years, it would be offering a nationwide barbecue with the following hit figure.
McRib will of course appear on the menu on December 2 for a limited time.

The McRib is an elusive award for devotees who scour the internet for reports of its occurrence in limited locations and over a short period of time. There’s even a website called McRib Locator, created to spread the word about McDonald’s restaurants offering boneless pork sandwiches with sliced onions and pickles.
The company̵7;s social media group this month lamented its lack of interest in emotions, as McRib entered the conversation.
McDonald’s is reintroducing McRib across the country as they try to regain their status during the pandemic, leaving many of their dining rooms sparse or empty, even though drive-thrus continues to operate.
When it announced second-quarter earnings in July that saw a 68% drop in net income, the world’s largest burger chain said it would spend more than $ 200 million to support franchisee marketing in second quarter to attract back customers.
It’s not impossible to get McRib anytime you want, but you may need to travel to Germany where it’s on the menu year round.
McRib was launched nationwide in the United States in 1982.
