Matthew McConaughey is, not surprisingly, a supportive father – and that includes being fully involved if his children decide to follow in his footsteps and become an actor.
Matthew McConaughey says his son Levi is a ‘kid that really cares’
McConaughey shared some insights about his three children while chatting with ET about his memoir. Green light. The actor said his 12-year-old son, Levi, is a “caring child” but also a perfectionist, like his father.
“Levi is the nicest person I’ve ever met,” McConaughey said. “Yes, he is extremely considerate and a very, very sensitive and really caring guy – a really caring kid. And he, like me, has a very perfectionist in him “.
The actor continued, “He wanted everything to be exactly how he wanted it to be. And he is very sure about exactly what that is and is not afraid to jump in a chair and praise people for exactly what he means in case you don’t understand.
McConaughey shares more about how he and Levi really can make a great story together, illustrating just how creative his son is, too. McConaughey said: “He’s a great salesman, he’s a great debater, he’s a great storyteller, he’s becoming a really good storyteller. “He and I, we tell stories and he knows, we wink a little while embellishing somewhere, like ‘Oh, that didn’t happen, but hey, it’s better for the story’ But for the most part he is very active and he becomes a good friend of mine now when he reaches 12 years old. “

McConaughey was fine when his kids got into the entertainment industry
Usually, celebrity parents in the entertainment industry always hope their children will not follow in their footsteps because it is difficult to enter the business and there are so many rejection.
McConaughey, however, said he favors whatever path his child takes. He shared that if Levi, Vida, 10, or Livingston, 7, decides that acting is what they want to pursue, then he’s fine.
The actor explained, “Look, I want them to do whatever they are trendy to do. “Anything they have the innate ability to do, and are willing to make the effort to accomplish it better. Whatever it is, I want them to do it. ”
He continued, “What if that becomes something in the industry I’m in? Acclaim. I’ve met some of the greatest people in my life, I love what I do. Everyone on a set or a TV show has to do their particular job well in order to function. “
McConaughey trained his kids for life in the business
While his children may not have auditioned for the roles yet, McConaughey says that he has put them into work that would prepare them for the entertainment world.
“I’ve already started using them,” he said. “They do all my photo shoots now. They’ve done the Longbranch commercial. Levi did. He’s DP, he’s the one out there, we’re setting up GoPros. We are working on editing. ”
“So maybe I’ll have a small McConaughey production team here, and we’ll be a single store,” he added.
