That is the question that millions of Americans have spent five long, anxious days waiting for and wondering: Will any dogs in the White House come in January?

OK, in the election most likely to have consequences in life, this is probably it at least implication of consequences. But it is true. After four years as a president who can’t keep pets, dogs will once again pounce on the White House lawn.

And yes, President-elect Joe Biden ran the campaign on that platform. At least on social media.

Biden and his wife, Jill Biden, have two German shepherds, Major and Champ.

Despite the president’s very long tradition of pets, one of the Biden dogs will make a little bit of history. NBC News has reported that Major will be the first rescue dog in the White House. The Bidens raised and subsequently received the Major two years ago, through the Delaware Humane Association.

Bidens adopted Champ as a puppy in 2008, while Biden is serving as vice president.

On Twitter, the Democrats’ dogs are delighted at the news.
