Ruined King: A League of Legends Story, upcoming single player section League of Legends spinoff will launch the franchise for the first time on consoles, having announced the first (albeit vague) information. It will launch in “early 2021” on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Steam and Epic Games Store at launch, with PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X / S versions set to follow soon after. . (PS4 and Xbox One players will be able to upgrade for free.)
Along with news of a release window, Riot Forge also announced some additional details about what is Ruins king will really be: a one-player turn-based RPG, set in the Bilgewater and Shadow Isles regions of Runeterra (the planet where League of Legends is set). The company also revealed its listing League of Legends the champions will appear as playable characters Ruins king: Miss Fortune, Illaoi, Braum, Yasuo, Ahri and Pyke.
There is no look at actual gameplay yet, but Riot Forge has promised more information about Ruins king in December.
The release will be the first game from Riot Games’ new indie publishing label, Riot Forge, announced last year as part of a new initiative partnering with other developers to expand League of Legends universe into new games and genres.
With Ruins king – developed by Airship Syndicate, the team behind Darksiders Genesis – Riot Forge is also working Convergence, developed by Double Stallion Games, will also be available for console and PC, though a release date is not yet available.
It is all other than anything else League of Legends titles that Riot is developing on its own, like its collectible card game Legend of Runeterra (released earlier in 2020), League of Legends: Wild Rift (the mobile game moves the popular MOBA gameplay of the original PC game to Android and iOS), a series of cartoons and a fighting game.
