Mediatonic Fall Guys’ bizarre battle royale game is the latest craze in the gaming realm, and the frenzy surrounding it is expanding beyond the gaming world.
NHL’s Washington Capitals released a tweet asking developers to add hockey skin for the Fall Guys. They created a simulation showing a green-pea character wearing the Capital’s jersey, along with a helmet and skates. KFC’s game Twitter account also requires a special skin for Colonel Sanders. You can see both models below.
Other franchises, including Clash Royale and charity Get Well Gamers UK, have also called on Mediatonic to release special skins for the game. Obviously, there is a lot of demand for special skins in Fall Guys and it would be interesting to see Mediatonic respond promptly.
Fall Guys already has a number of special skins, including Gordon Freeman on PC and a Hotline Miami skin, so there is some precedent for new in-game skins based on other franchises.
With sales of more than 2 million copies on PC, Fall Guys is setting records for Mediatonic and publisher Devolver Digital. The game is free on PS4 with PS Plus, which certainly helps the game reach a wide audience as well.
GameSpot̵7;s Alessandro Barbosa enjoyed his time playing Fall Guys and its various mini-games. “With short games and easy-to-grasp mechanics, Fall Guys is easily the most accessible and welcoming battle royale game ever,” he said in GameSpot’s review. “Its vibrant colors and varied game modes do a great job at engaging you and keeping you hooked, even if a few feel at odds with the easygoing nature of its premise.”
Things are not entirely smooth, though, as fraudsters are flocking to the Fall Guys to try to gain the upper hand.
