BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) – The Kern County Department of Public Health reported 11 deaths and 617 new COVID-19 cases this morning.
These numbers bring the county’s total to 22,636 cases and 171 deaths. The ministry is reporting that 7,122 people have recovered from the virus, 15,088 people are on home quarantine and 245 people are on hospital quarantine. KCPH said 113,214 tests were negative and 666 tests were pending.
There are 14,248 cases among people 18 to 49 years old. People 50 to 64 years of age represent 3,930 cases while there are 1,899 cases among people 65 and older, according to the ministry. There are 2,521 children tested positive for the virus.
COVID-19 cases may not be reported due to technical problems with the California Department of Public Health, California’s Department of Reportable Disease Information Exchange.
