Boise State midfielder Hank Bachmeier will not be present for Broncos home game, the 21st-ranked team against BYU No. 9 on Friday night, the school announced.
This is the second in a row he will miss for undisclosed reasons.
Junior Jack Sears, a move out of the USC, will once again start in the Bachmeier position. He led the Broncos to a 49-30 victory over the Air Force last week. Sears, who started a game for the USC in 2018, completed 17 of 20 passes 280 yards long and three touches in the win, showing strong attacking abilities he is not familiar with for coming summer.
Boise State coach Bryan Harsin, on his own, did not give local reporters any indication of Bachmeier’s availability for the week. The team did not have four players on Friday due to COVID-19 related protocols, the school announced.
The game is one of four games in college football this weekend between ranked teams and can play a key role in both teams’ quest to reach a New Year’s Bat game.
