Disney launched a tearful Christmas ad with a charity track



Disney today announced the release of its new Christmas ad, a three-minute animated short that tells the touching story of a grandmother, her granddaughter, and the family traditions that unite them across many year.

As part of Disney’s festival retail campaign, ‘From Our Family To Yours’, the ad marks a 40-year partnership with the children’s charity, Make-A-Wish.

Warm storyline inspired by themes of tradition, family reunion and nostalgia, and introduces two new characters – a grandmother, Lola and her niece – along with a familiar friend Mickey Mouse.

With each passing year, Mickey becomes a symbol of Lola’s childhood and present-day connection with her granddaughter, eventually inspiring an unexpected festival on Christmas morning.

Disney fans will be able to purchase the limited edition classic Mickey Mouse soft toy featured in ads from The Disney Store and ShopDisney.co.uk, benefiting the Make-A-Wish organizations.

The story is accompanied by the emotional vocals of UK artist and Rising Star candidate Ivor Novello, Griff, 19, performer ‘Love Is A Compass’, written by the composing / production team. output, PARKWILD.

The charity song will also be available for sale and download starting November 9. For each download before December 31, 2020, 100% of the retail price proceeds will go to Make-A -Wish.

To celebrate the theme of family festivals, Disney encourages fans to visit Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter to share their past and present festive memories using #LoveFromDisney.

For each special anniversary shared, Disney will give Make-A-Wish $ 1 (up to $ 100,000).

The ad is developed and produced by Disney EMEA’s in-house creative team, led by Angela Affinita, Brand Marketing and Innovation Director, in partnership with Flux Animation Studios.
