BEIJING (Reuters) – The Chinese Communist Party has said it will assist Fujian province in exploring a new path for integration with Taiwan, state media reported on Tuesday.
Fujian is a province across the strait with Taiwan, which China considers an outdated region.
Over the next five years, China will help Taiwanese businesses participate in the Belt and Road Initiative and list on the mainland market, the Xinhua state news agency reported, citing the recommendations of ruling party on economic and social development for the period 2021-2025.
The recommendation also states that China will be vigilant and firm against the separatist activities fighting for Taiwan’s independence.
