THis demolition of most buildings in the Palestinian community in the Jordan Valley was shocking (Israeli forces left 41 children homeless after razing a Palestinian village, UN said November 5 ). Usually, Israel demolishes only a few homes per day, which goes unnoticed. According to our statistics, since 1967, there have been more than 55,000 demolitions of houses and structures important to living in occupied Palestine. In 99% of cases, Israel̵7;s demolition and displacement policy is in complete violation of international law. This forced relocation is cruel and traumatic for Palestinian families. Israel’s demolition of Palestinian homes should be a cross-party issue for every congressman concerned with the rule of law and the future of humanity. We call on our government to call on Israel to account.
