For Bang Boise … The Broncos are trying to keep their perfect form against Cougars in Boise, they’ve beaten them in their previous five matches on the green pitch.
For BYU … This is the first time that both teams have been ranked when competing. In two of Cougars’ three wins over Boise State, the Broncos have been ranked.
Bang Boise would win if … The Broncos blocked BYU’s attack and continued their efforts to score high (they are averaging 45.5 points per game) after anyone playing midfield.
BYU will win if … The leopard is able to maintain their attack effectiveness, especially in the early stages of the game and get some important stops in defense.
PLAYERS TO WATCH
Khalil Shakir, Boise State wide receiver: While it is still unclear who will start in midfield for Boise State between Hank Bachmeier and Jack Sears, Shakir has been a reliable target this season, with 13 appearances at 213 yards and two touches of the ball.
BYU defender Zach Wilson vs. The Broncos filler: The State of Boise kept its first two opponents – the State of Utah and the Air Force – at under 100 yards during their matches. Wilson, meanwhile, averaged 307.4 yards per game with a passing efficiency of 198.69; he threw 252 yards without a touch and was not intercepted in a 21-16 loss at Boise State two years ago when he was a freshman.
“They have a really good team. They have played more games than we have played, so there is some experience there. They get the chance to go through things that just playing the game gives you and we have a lot of facilities to make up for it. But on a large scale, I don’t really see any weak links.
– Boise State Coach Bryan Harsin
“They score a lot of points and their attack versatility is impressive. It’s consistent, that’s what they do. It doesn’t matter the midfielder’s name; they get in there and it’s efficient. “
– BYU coach Kalani Sitake
