Samsung has launched new wireless headphones for its flagship Galaxy S series for the past two years. It actually debuted two of them in 2020. Galaxy Buds + debuted alongside the Galaxy S20 and Galaxy Buds Live with the Galaxy Note 20.
It’s safe to say we can also expect a new pair of wireless earbuds with the Galaxy S21. A new brand filings show that Samsung could use a different name for the headphones around this time.
Buds Beyond could be released alongside the Galaxy S21
Our friends now GalaxyClub has discovered a European Union trademark application from Samsung for “Buds Beyond”. This trademark application was filed with the European Union Intellectual Property Office yesterday and covers use cases similar to previous Buds devices.
Nothing else is known about Buds Beyond as of now. If one speculates, they are simply upgraded versions of the Galaxy Buds + with some minor design improvements. It remains to be seen whether features like Active Noise Cancellation come in.
If history is any indication, we could see the Buds Beyond launch alongside the Galaxy S21series. The company has a habit of offering new earbuds as a pre-order gift, so giving away a new pair would make a lot of sense. Of course, the Galaxy Buds Live aren’t outdated so Samsung could still use them if it doesn’t plan on rolling out new ones.
It will be known for sure whether new in-ear headphones will be on the agenda as more leaks appear in the coming weeks. We have revealed that the Galaxy S21 series will be launching as early as January 2021.
