Apple posted a support page on its website on Friday regarding the issue some AirPods Pro users are experiencing. The page titled “AirPods Pro Service Program for Sound Problems” begins by stating that a small number of AirPods Pro units manufactured before this month are experiencing sound problems. These problems include crackling noises and, like static sound, increase volume in noisy environments.
Users also complained that Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), which eliminates background and background noise from the AirPods Pro, is not working as expected. Sometimes background noises like the sound of traffic from a busy street or the sound of planes from the sky disrupt the silence expected from the ANC feature. Other users noticed the bass was lost. Apple will do the right thing and it or an Apple Authorized Service Provider will fix the problem for free. It is regardless of whether or not one or both headphones need to be replaced.

You can make an appointment at the Apple Store, contact Apple Support, or find an Apple Authorized Service Provider. Before any of these decides to replace faulty parts on your AirPods Pro, they’ll be checked to make sure they qualify for the program. Parts of the problematic AirPods Pro that have been confirmed will be exchanged. And Apple says that the AirPods Pro case isn’t included in any of these and won’t be replaced even with headphones.
