Sonora, CA – Tuolumne County Health Officials announce that the recent death of a 50-year-old male resident is under investigation in their Covid-1
9 report. Individual was hospitalized. Yesterday’s report was clarified to share that the person who passed away was a man in his 60’s, had the underlying medical condition and was hospitalized for COVID-19. Public Health stated, “We extend our sincere condolences to the families and friends of the deceased.”Tuolumne Public Health reported three new cases today, all of which have been quarantined. Four people who were positive for Covid-19 were still hospitalized. Three previously isolated individuals were released from quarantine. Known Tuolumne tests: 12,785, total 288 positive, 20 active cases, total recovered 248. A total of 14 recovered prisoners were included among the Tuolumne County positive cases.
The state’s COVID-19 test site is moving to Sonora. Starting next Tuesday, November 3, the free trial is available to everyone at Motherlode Fairgrounds. Appointments from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm are available at www.lhi.care/covidtesting or call (888) 634-1123. Public health said, “People are encouraged to take advantage of this resource and get tested if they have symptoms of COVID-19, have been in close contact with confirmed cases, have traveled. have recently had close contact with others outside of their household, and have regular check-ups if they work in high-risk environments such as healthcare, repair or care. focus or if they have regular interactions with the public through work or other community participation.
In July as reported here, Tuolumne County had 34 COVID-19 operational quarantine cases but no more than 21 active cases before July or since August. Tuolumne at Orange Level 3, levels reviewed and updated on Tuesdays. The free state test site currently located at the Calaveras County Fairgrounds will be moved to the Mother Lode Fairgrounds in Sonora by the end of October. The site will be open for testing starting Tuesday, November 3rd. Appointments for testing can be scheduled starting a few days before the opening date at www.lhicare.com/covidtesting.
The test site at Calaveras County Fairgrounds is open Tuesday – Saturday, from 7am to 7pm. Site offers to test children 3 years of age and older (accompanied by a parent or guardian). Tuolumne County Public Health encourages anyone concerned about possible exposure to get tested, and essential employees are encouraged to get tested every two weeks.
It is important that people continue to follow prevention guidelines to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, including:
- Practice away from physics at all times. Keep a distance of 6 feet between you and others outside your home. Stay in your family bubble!
- Wear a face mask in public.
- Wash your hands thoroughly and often.
- Avoid hanging out with people of all sizes outside of your family.
- Stay home if you are sick.
- Avoid unnecessary travel, and limit going out to essential jobs.
