On October 31st, Animal Crossing: New Horizons Hold your very own Halloween event in the game.
From 5pm until midnight, players can dress up to receive Sweets from their villagers, as well as deliver Sweets to villagers for sweet seasonal rewards.
Jack, the self-proclaimed Halloween Tsar, will be found around your Island Resident Service and he will help you kick off the event.
How to get candy
There are many ways to get Candy. During October, each character on an island can buy one Candy per day from Nook’s Cranny.
If Halloween is near and you need more Candy, you can wear Halloween costumes and get it from the villagers inside their house. Note that villagers running around outside will ask for Candy, but villagers inside will give it.
How to get exclusive DIY Halloween recipes and items
Villagers will randomly give homemade recipes, along with Halloween-themed Lollipops and furniture in exchange for Candies. As you walk around your island, you will see revealing villagers running to you to get Candy. As long as you pass a number, you will get a reward.
Giving Candies to your villagers is the only way to get spooky Wreath recipes and set up spooky dining tables. It’s also the only way to get the spooky Wall decorations, the Ghost Floor, and the Spooky Carpet.
Note that what you get from your villagers is random, so it might take a few tries to get what you need.
DIY recipes for the Devil’s Wands and Spooky Cart can only be obtained when giving the Lollipop to Jack.
How to create Halloween reactions
There are two Halloween reactions that you can take. You get the first one, Haunt, from giving Candy to Jack. You get the second one, Scare, by giving Candy to someone in your village.
