CHAPEL HILL, NC (WTVD) – The University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill issued a ‘completely clear’ announcement after more than 30 minutes of warning about an armed report on campus.
The warning started at 11:43 am with an alert from Alert Carolina telling all students and staff to “get in now.”
A follow-up warning at 12:05 pm said armed people were seen at the UNC Ambulance Care Center, a COVID-19 test site located on the South Campus of UNC Hospital.
The next warning reiterated that everyone should “shelter in place immediately.”
Then, at 12:21 pm, Alert Carolina released the following tweet saying it was over.
