The Cubs won again. I can actually get used to this. I have, really.
Yu Darvish had everything active tonight, including a no-beat in six innings. It wasn’t until Justin Smoak’s solo homer in season 7 that Darvish gave up a hit or a run, but he was pretty close to perfection.
Rowan Wick got a save on this, probably thrown by Jeremy Jeffress last night, and got the job done, even though things were just a little bit of trouble in season 9. He’s still very Obviously a guy.
Overall, a relatively quiet night for the bats, who put a huge amount of traffic on the grounds against old friend Brett Anderson, but didn’t do much damage. Even two runs on turn 6 can do more with one or two hits in time. Hey, not four runs was a terrible night. And it took a lot with Darvish on the mound.
Whole box score.
