Dodd recently renewed her permit in Hickman County and upon receiving the letter on Thursday, she was surprised to find that in lieu of her identification there was a photo of an empty chair. .
“The woman at the DMV didn’t really believe me when I said like ‘hey, I need to fix my license’,” said Dodd.
“Then she looked it up in the system and said, ‘Oh, I need my manager for this.’
The Tennessee Department of Homeland Safety and Security told CNN that the error occurred when the wrong image was taken and saved to Dodd̵7;s file.
Wes Moster, communications director, said: “When a client recently renewed her driver’s license online, she received a picture of a chair because it was the last picture taken on file,” Wes Moster , the communications director, said in a statement.
“When the Department learned of her situation, we immediately went to work with the client and provided her with her photo authorization and addressed the situation internally. ”
Luckily, Dodd mostly thought it was funny and told WKRN that it was a good way to lighten the mood caused by the coronavirus virus.
“My boss thought it was funnier than anyone. I went to work on Friday and he pointed to a chair outside his office door and said, ‘I think this is you, I waved hand greeted it this morning ‘and I’m like’ thanks, Dodd said.
Strangers have even started sending memes to her on social media to help exploit the humorous incident.
Coming Monday, the Dodd got a new license and a great story to tell.
